Ronny D Tech CEOs

Remember the last time you saw a commercial for a Tomato, or Rice or Beans by themselves? The reason these commercials don’t exist is that fruits, vegetables and whole grains are a commodity product that don’t need to be sold as part of a McDonald’s Happy Meal. A McDonald’s Happy Meal has something that is technically called food, but in practice is “food like”, and includes a toy to encourage addiction. Further research on intermittent fasts points to many benefits of eating less frequently, perhaps a 6-8 hour window. Let’s summarize:

  • You don’t need a commercial food product like a Happy Meal as it is inferior nutritionally to whole food.
  • Whole, inexpensive food is never marketed to you, instead an inferior addictive product is.
  • You don’t even need to eat any fast food, you can drive home and eat whole nutritious foods later that day.
  • Evidence of the ingredients in fast food called UPF (ultra processed food) decreasing longevity are strong.
  • The profit motive of publicly traded companies create incentives that cause harm to humans in food and health verticals

This pattern is so obvious that the documentary “Super Size Me” didn’t need much explanation. Does this pattern exist in other industries? It does with Big Tech. If you look at the big commercial operating systems, Windows and OS X and their corporate creators, they also fit a similar pattern.

  • You don’t need to run Windows or OS X or any commercial product these companies make. They are inferior to Linux, which is “good enough” and in many ways superior.
  • You don’t need spyware on your computer (things installed by Windows and OS X)
  • You don’t need a smartphone or a data plan
